District 58 Hosts Annual Legislative Breakfast

Downers Grove Grade School District 58’s Board of Education Legislative Committee hosted its annual Legislative Breakfast on February 20 at Herrick Middle School, welcoming six elected officials, one congressional press secretary and nearly 100 local community and school district leaders.

The morning featured informal networking, a performance by the Herrick Chamber Strings Orchestra, and student-led introductions of participating legislators. During a moderated panel and small-group discussions, officials shared their K–12 funding priorities and engaged in thoughtful dialogue about education issues at the local, state and federal levels.

District 58 values the opportunity to engage with legislative partners and remains committed to advocating for policies and resources that support student success.
