Attendance: Reporting Absences

At District 58, regular attendance is essential for student success. If your child will be absent from school, please notify the school as early as possible. Each school has a Google Form that can be used to submit absences. Please contact your school office for access to the attendance form. You may also use the phone numbers listed below to report an absence. You may leave a message outside of normal business hours. Reporting absences promptly helps ensure student safety and allows staff to support your child’s learning.

Steps to Report an Absence

1. Call Your School: Use the designated phone number for your child’s school to report the absence.
2. Provide Student Information: Give your child’s full name, grade, and teacher’s name.
3. Reason for Absence: Briefly explain the reason for the absence (i.e., illness, appointment).
4. Expected Return Date: If known, provide the date your child is expected to return.
5. Follow Up if Needed: Some schools may request additional documentation for extended absences.
