About District 58

We achieve academic excellence.

District 58 supports learning to meet the needs of all students. We vetted and adopted new English-Language Arts resources in 2018 and Science resources in 2019, new Math resources in 2020, new Social Studies resources in 2021 and 2022 and new Writing Resources in 2023. We proudly equip our teachers with rigorous and updated curricular materials to help our students succeed!

District 58 continues to make strong gains in student achievement. Our schools are ranked at the top of the districts that feed into District 99 and continue to perform well across elementary districts in DuPage County. All 13 District 58 schools earned a “Commendable” rating on the 2024 School Report Card—the final year the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) will use this designation before transitioning to a new system. View the November 2025 Illinois School Report Card Board Presentation.

Significant progress has been made across all assessments thanks to the hard work of our staff and the support of our families. While achievement continues to rise, the District remains focused on strengthening student growth.

Plus, our Grove Children's Preschool program has earned Gold Ratings from the State of Illinois Preschool Audit. This is the highest rating a preschool can earn for excellence in teaching and learning!

No wonder 93% of District 58 parents say: "My child is getting a quality education."

We care for the whole child.

District 58 keeps students at the center of every decision. Our dedicated teachers and staff work collaboratively to nurture each student's academic, social and emotional needs. To better support all students, the average District 58 classroom has 21 students.

We plan for the future.

District 58 launched its Vision 58 Strategic Plan in spring 2023 with input from the community, including surveys and engagement committees. Building on the success of the 2018–2023 plan, Vision 58 focuses on five goals: Focusing on Learning, Connecting the Community, Securing the Future, Building for Success, and Cultivating Talent. This comprehensive plan will guide the District’s priorities and improvement efforts through 2028.

The District 58 community overwhelmingly supported a building referendum in the fall of 2022 that will provide for a safe, modern and effective learning environment for all students. The master facility plan was developed with input from all stakeholders, including District 58 staff, parents and the broader community. We are very excited about the future of our fantastic schools!
