Eighteen teachers earn grants from DG Junior Woman's Club

Teacher Terri La Via receives her grant award and flowers from members of the Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club.

The Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club proudly awarded nearly $10,000 in grants to 18 teachers and staff representing 15 schools in Districts 58 and 99. A record 57 applications were received, reflecting the dedication of so many educators who want to provide for their students. 

District 58 awardees were:

  • Kate Blackburn (Kingsley) - Professional development videos
  • Maureen Bresnahan (El Sierra & Belle Aire) - Speech buddy tools
  • Molly Clinnin (El Sierra) - Wipebooks
  • Susan Dillon (Grove Preschool) - Social skill learning books
  • Christina Forzley (Lester) - Library books
  • Lisa Garbis (Lester) - Science of Reading books
  • Cori Holtze (Highland) - Books for delayed readers
  • Heather Howland (Pierce Downer) - Wobble stools
  • Terri La Via (Hillcrest) - Adjustable desks
  • Mary Loversky (El Sierra) - Library books
  • Lara Marlowe (Indian Trail) - SEL book kit and emotional stuffed animal 
  • Kristine Marquez (El Sierra) - Multisensory tools
  • Robyn Panico and Keri Bernhard (O’Neill Middle School) - Large print books 
  • Janet Peters (Indian Trail) - Phonics booklets
  • Alecia Probst and Darcy Pellicano (Grove Preschool) - Gross motor equipment
  • Lauren Wilson (Grove Preschool) - Activity take-home borrow bags
