O’Neill alumnus replaces bike racks for Eagle Scout project

Boy Scout Troop 89 gathered in the searing August heat to assist Logan Henderson with his Eagle Scout Project to replace the bike racks at O’Neill Middle School. This project would not have been possible without the support of Principal Durbala and the O’Neill PTA; Troop 89; the Home Depots on Woodward and 75th Street; Hinsdale Nursery; Home Landscape Materials and RTT Cycle Shop.

Logan Henderson, a sophomore at Downers Grove South, led the scouts over two work days. They dug up and removed the old bike racks and cleared gravel for new sod in place of one of the old racks. The racks were assembled, placed, and secured just in time for the students’ first day.

Thank you, Logan, for your leadership and hard work to make this project a reality!
