Indian Trail and O’Neill alumna creates “Feed the Front Line” to support health care workers and local businesses

Lori Niehaus lives in Downers Grove and is a proud alumna of Indian Trail and O’Neill schools. When the COVID-19 pandemic began affecting our community, Lori felt compelled to make a difference, so she created a fundraising campaign called Feed the Front Line.

Through Feed the Front Line, Lori supports local food businesses in Downers Grove and the Chicagoland area by using 100% of the donations she receives to purchase food from local and family-owned businesses that are facing economic uncertainty. The prepared meals are being donated to hospital doctors, nurses and staff working on the frontlines of this pandemic.

As of April 17, Feed the Front Line has ordered 816 meals at 35 different local businesses, including Cedar Grill, Busy Bee Bakery, Mi-Hacienda, Cozzi Corner, Alfredo’s Taqueria, Skuddlebutts, Angelo’s Pizza, Berto’s Deli and Pierce Tavern. They then delivered the meals directly to the incredible hard-working staff at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove and other front line locations.

Her efforts have also generated $20,000 in donations! Way to go, Lori!!
