Reflections Art Program Participants Receive State Recognition

The PTA Reflections program is a multi-level arts recognition program with local, district/council/region, state, and national levels of recognition. It celebrates students’ artistic skills, creativity, and interpretation of this year’s theme, “I Belong.” Students in grades K–8 may submit original works in one of six categories: visual arts, photography, dance choreography, music composition, film production, or literature.

On April 18, the Illinois PTA hosted its statewide Reflections Arts Program Showcase at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Hoffman Estates. District 58 was proudly represented, with student artwork that advanced from the regional level to the state competition on display as part of the event.

Of the District 58 projects that advanced to the state level, six earned state-level Honorable Mentions, one received a state-level Award of Distinction, and one has advanced to the national level. National Reflections awards will be announced in May. Congratulations to all of this year’s Reflections participants!
