Will your child attend kindergarten in District 58 next school year? Or do you have a friend or neighbor whose child will? Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2026, are eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2026-27 school year.
We recommend that families visit our Kindergarten Resource page for kindergarten-specific information about dates, school boundary maps, registration, immunization requirements, curriculum, and much more.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact their neighborhood elementary school to be added to any school-specific kindergarten contact lists. To see which school your student will attend, visit the School Boundary Map.
Incoming kindergarten families should complete new student registration by Friday, March 13. District 58’s Registration page will provide step-by-step instructions for the registration process. We ask that families please complete registration by Friday, March 13.
Kindergarten 2026-27 parents and guardians are invited to attend Kindergarten Round-Up at their child’s future school, which will provide you with an opportunity to visit your child’s school, meet the principal and staff, and ask any questions you may have. The District 58 Kindergarten Round-Up schedule is as follows:
- Belle Aire - March 12, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- El Sierra - March 4, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Fairmount - March 5, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Henry Puffer - March 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Highland - March 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Hillcrest - March 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Indian Trail - March 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Kingsley - March 24, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Lester - March 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Pierce Downer - March 25, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
- Whittier - March 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
We also encourage parents and guardians to consider District 58’s Dual Language Program. To learn more about the program, including program goals, instructional model, and how families may participate, attend the Kindergarten Dual Language Program Information Night on Tuesday, February 24 from 6:30–7:30 p.m. at El Sierra School, 6835 Fairmount Drive.
