Join Us in Shaping the Future of District 58

Join a DG58 Committee

Fall 2025

Dear District 58 Community,

District 58 is fortunate to have parents/guardians, staff, and community members who care deeply about our students’ education. By working together, we can turn this passion into meaningful opportunities for our children. We invite you to get involved by serving on a District 58 council or Board of Education committee for the 2025-26 school year.

District-wide councils with openings include:

  • Superintendent’s Community Advisory Council (parents/guardians)
  • Connection and Communication Council (parents/guardians and staff)
  • Curriculum Council (primarily staff, with parent/guardian spots)

In addition, the District 58 Board of Education maintains several committees that provide guidance in key areas. The Board is seeking additional parents/guardians, staff, and community members to fill vacancies on the following committees:

  • Financial Advisory Committee
  • Legislative Committee
  • Policy Committee
  • District Leadership Team

These groups provide valuable input that helps guide the direction of our schools. Click here to learn more about each council/committee, including descriptions, available spots, and meeting schedules.

How to get involved:

  • Please complete this Committee Interest Form by Friday, Oct. 3.
  • Applicants will be notified of their status by Friday, Oct. 10.
  • Membership will be selected to ensure balanced representation across schools and stakeholder groups. While we hope to place every applicant, some committees may be limited. If you are not selected, please consider getting involved through your local PTA.

Your perspective is invaluable. By sharing your ideas, experiences, and expertise, you will help shape the future of our schools while strengthening our community.

Thank you for your support and partnership.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kevin B. Russell
Superintendent of Schools
