District 58 officially launched the 2025-26 school year with an all-staff gathering at the historic Tivoli Theatre. The program highlighted the introduction of new staff members and the recognition of staff service awards. Attendees also heard remarks from Superintendent Dr. Russell, the District 58 Board of Education, the Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58, the Downers Grove Elementary Education Association (DGEEA) and Grit2.
The event culminated with keynote speaker Chris Norton, who shared his compelling personal story and the lessons he learned from his tragedy. He delivered an inspiring message about embracing change, reframing challenges, and building resilience. His words set an uplifting and motivating tone as staff look forward to the year ahead.
