The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Regular Business Meeting on Monday, June 9 at 7 p.m. at the Downers Grove Civic Center, 850 Curtiss St., Downers Grove, IL 60515. The public may also view the meeting remotely, via the Village of Downers Grove’s YouTube account.
The agenda covers many topics, including:
- A public hearing on the proposed 2024-25 amended budget and a recommendation to approve the 2024-25 amended budget. It was amended to reflect the increase in revenue due to the second referendum bond issuance.
- A spotlight on District 58’s spring assessment data and survey results.
- An update on District 58’s staffing.
- A recommendation to appoint incoming Assistant Superintendent of Business Gregory Harris as the school treasurer, effective July 1.
- A recommendation to approve the transfer of $230,000 from the Education Fund to the Debt Service Fund; and the transfer of $50,000 from the Operations and Maintenance Fund to the Capital Fund.
- A recommendation to approve the purchase of property, casualty and workers’ compensation insurance coverages for $731,648.
- A recommendation to approve a three-year contract with ParentSquare for a total cost of $74,962.62.
- A recommendation to approve a renewal contract with Quest Food Management Services to provide middle school meals for the 2025-26 school year at a cost of $5.18 per meal.
- A recommendation to approve a renewal contract with Open Kitchens to provide vended meal service at the elementary schools for the 2025-26 school year at a cost of $4.86 per meal.
- A recommendation to approve a donation agreement between the Whittier PTA and the Board of Education; through the agreement, the Whittier PTA is donating $50,000 for Whittier’s constructed accessible playground.
- A recommendation to approve proposed amendments to the DuPage/West Cook Intergovernmental Agreement.
- A recommendation to approve the grant of easement at Hillcrest School to the Village of Downers Grove.
- A recommendation to designate a variety of equipment as surplus and placed on a public auction site.
- A recommendation to approve electrical equipment purchases for Phase III construction schools.
