Board Preview: May 12 Regular Meeting

The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Regular Business Meeting on Monday, May 12 at 7 p.m. at the Downers Grove Civic Center, 850 Curtiss St., Downers Grove, IL 60515. The public may also view the meeting remotely, via the Village of Downers Grove’s YouTube account. 

The agenda covers many topics, including:

  • A Hillcrest School presentation.
  • A spotlight on District 58’s transition to a sixth-to-eighth grade middle school model.
  • A spotlight on District 58’s construction progress.
  • A recommendation to approve the consent agenda, which includes the financial report, personnel report, and District 58 Discipline Improvement Plan.
  • A recommendation to nominate Member Steve Olczyk to represent Districts 58 and 99 on the Village of Downers Grove Plan Commission.
  • A recommendation to accept a proposal from Voya for specific stop loss insurance coverage for $1,439,073 for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
  • A recommendation to designate a variety of equipment as surplus and placed on a public auction site.
  • A recommendation to approve common area furniture purchases for the middle schools from Henricksen at a cost of $60,042.92.
  • Recommendations to approve fitness room purchases for the middle schools from Matrix at a cost of $76,296 and Keiser at a cost of $36,010.82. 
  • A recommendation to approve appliance purchases for the middle school FACS classrooms and staff lounges from Abt at a cost of $50,905.25.
