Twenty-eight Downers Grove Grade School District 58 students will participate in the annual Illinois Music Festival and Jazz Festival later this month. The prestigious festival is conducted by the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA), the statewide professional association for music educators in the state of Illinois.
The District 1 Junior Music Festival wlll be held on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Unity Junior High School in Cicero and the District 1 Jazz Festival will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 at Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor. Students come from more than 60 schools throughout the southwestern Chicago region.
The Festival Band, Orchestra and Chorus students will present a public Festival Finale Concert at 3 p.m. at Unity Junior High School. The Junior Jazz Bands will present their concert on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor.
