Board Preview: Feb. 27 Special Meeting/Curriculum Workshop

The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting/Curriculum Workshop on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023 at 7 p.m. in the Professional Development Center at O’Neill Middle School, 635 59th St. The public may also view the meeting remotely, via District 58’s YouTube channel. 

During the Curriculum Workshop portion of this meeting, the School Board and community members can learn about District 58's curricular objectives and participate in mini-workshops on relevant curriculum topics, including social studies/inquiry, dual language, elementary music, middle school advisory and the writing pilot program. 

The following action items may be approved at the Special Meeting:

  • A recommendation to approve full-day kindergarten 
  • A recommendation to approve 2023-24 Outdoor Education
  • A recommendation to appoint Elizabeth Ehrhart as the next assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, effective July 1, 2023. Mrs. Ehrhart will succeed Mr. Justin Sisul who will move to assistant superintendent for personnel beginning July 1.

Workshop meetings also offer visitors a 30-minute opportunity to engage in a two-way dialogue with the School Board. In addition, members of the public may communicate with the Board at any time by emailing boe@dg58.org.
