Geoff Neustadt earns Downers Grove Fire Department’s Chief’s Award

Downers Grove Grade School District 58 congratulates Assistant Director of Buildings and Grounds Geoff Neustadt for earning the Chief’s Award from the Downers Grove Fire Department (DGFD). This honor is annually presented to a firefighter, village employee or civilian for his or her continuous cooperation and support of the DGFD.

“Geoff, both a resident of Downers Grove and assistant director of buildings and grounds of District 58, has been a friend of the Fire Department and has continually supported the operations and activities of the Fire Department for many years. Geoff and District 58 have been great community partners that continue to support our mission,” said DGFD Fire Chief Scott Spinazola. 

“It was an honor for our Chief to present the Chief's Award to Geoff Neustadt in recognition of his continuous cooperation, and support of the Downers Grove Fire Department,” added DGFD Public Education Specialist Dale Smith.

“On behalf of District 58, congratulations to Geoff on this much deserved recognition! Geoff is not only an incredible District 58 leader, he is also a very dedicated Downers Grove community member,” said District 58 Superintendent Dr. Kevin Russell. “District 58 appreciates its strong partnership with the Fire Department, and Geoff’s work over the years has certainly helped strengthen this relationship!”

Neustadt received the honor during the DGFD’s Promotional, Badge Pinning and Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 11 at Station 2. In addition to announcing Neustadt as the 2022 recipient of the Chief’s Award, the ceremony also celebrated new candidates and promotions.
