Board Preview: March 14 Regular Meeting

The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Regular Business Meeting on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 7 p.m. at O’Neill Middle School, 635 59th St. The public may also view the meeting remotely, via District 58’s YouTube page. After the meeting has concluded, this live stream will be saved on District 58’s YouTube channel.

The meeting agenda covers many topics, including:

  • A flag salute by O’Neill students, and an O’Neill presentation.
  • A spotlight on District 58’s planning for the 2022-23 school year.
  • A vote to approve the Personnel Report, which includes the appointment of a new Indian Trail School principal for the 2022-23 school year
  • A recommendation to approve bids for the following services and goods:
    • Paving improvements at Henry Puffer and Hillcrest 
    • Masonry remediation at El Sierra, Highland and Kingsley 
    • Asbestos remediation at Henry Puffer 
    • Flooring at Henry Puffer 
    • Fire alarms at Henry Puffer and Highland 
    • Door replacement at Fairmount
    • 2022-23 District 58 trash and recycling services
    • 2022-23 District 58 general supplies
    • 2022-23 District 58 art supplies
  • A recommendation to approve the 2022-23 school calendar.
  • A recommendation to approve updates to 57 policies.
  • A recommendation to affirm the current COVID-19 protocols
  • A recommendation to adopt the Quaver general music curriculum resource for the 2022-23 school year.
  • A recommendation to approve KPIs for academic achievement and growth
  • A resolution regarding the honorable dismissal of teachers. Annually, positions are reduced pending enrollment and staffing plans for the upcoming year. As in years’ past, as soon as District 58 opens its 2022-23 enrollment process and can verify its enrollment needs for next school year, the District will call back these important employees.
  • A recommendation to approve a contract extension with First Student Transportation for the 2022-23 school year.
  • A recommendation to approve a contract extension with Sunrise Transportation for special education transportation for the 2022-23 school year.
  • A recommendation to approve rates with Kids Kab for the 2022-23 fiscal year.
