District 58 will co-host “Erin’s Law Training for Families of Students with Special Needs” on April 14

Downers Grove Grade School District 58, in partnership with Carie Johnstone of Madrigal Consulting, will present “Erin’s Law Training for Families of Students with Special Needs” on Wednesday, April 14 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. via this Zoom event link. This virtual event will help families of students with special needs consider individual circumstances for keeping children safe whose disabilities may make them more susceptible and vulnerable to sexual abuse.

“Ms. Johnstone comes to us with both clinical and special education school administration experience and has served as a social worker for the past 23 years,” said Assistant Superintendent for Special Services Jessica Stewart. “Her passion in this area has led her to play a leadership role in crisis intervention, child and family welfare, community mental health, school social work and private practice.”
