Board Preview: March 4 Curriculum Workshop and Special Meeting

The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Curriculum Workshop and Special Meeting on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 7 p.m. at O’Neill Middle School. The public may also view the meeting remotely via the District’s YouTube channel. After the meeting has concluded, the live stream will be saved on District 58’s YouTube channel. 

The meeting agenda covers many topics, including:

  • A curriculum presentation on English Language Arts and a pilot recommendation  
  • Staff presentations on Dual Language and Schoolwide Writing curriculum resource
  • A report on the Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan
  • A recommendation to approve fee for 6th grade Outdoor Education for spring 2023-24
  • A discussion about construction alternates for the referendum
  • Approval of the construction consent agenda that includes Phase I elementary bid group #3, furniture design and services contract and O’Neill library furniture purchase

How to make a public comment during the meeting:

The Board encourages public comment from the community. There will be an opportunity for in-person visitors to make a public comment. Members of the public may communicate with the Board at any time by emailing boe@dg58.org.
