Activities

Meeting and Times for Activities will be updated throughout the year, please check back frequently and keep an eye out in Parent Square communications for information related to activities!

Activity Bus Info: The Herrick activity bus allows our regular student bus riders to enjoy after-school activities or stay for help with teachers and still get a ride home! The activity bus leaves Herrick at approximately 4:10 P.M., Tuesday through Thursday. Please be aware that our driver designs this route specifically for the students who ride each day, covering the entire Herrick attendance area. Because of this, the activity bus ride could potentially be much longer than a regular bus ride . Also, we require students to have a pass from the teacher they were working with in order to ride the activity bus home. This prevents other students from hanging around unsupervised for 45 minutes and then taking the bus home.

Middle School Athletics & Activities Participation Fees:  As part of the new 6–8 middle school model, the District has expanded athletics, activities, and co-curricular music opportunities for students in grades 6–8. On August 10, 2026, the Board approved middle school participation fees to offset a portion of the cost of these expanded offerings and help us keep opportunities accessible to students and families.

  • Participation fees apply only to the offerings listed below. Families will receive an invoice through PushCoin after their student joins a fee-based activity. Families who may qualify for financial assistance are encouraged to submit a fee waiver form (see information below).
    • $50 per student — Cut sports and activities: Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Cheerleading
    • $25 per student — Non-cut sports, activities, and co-curricular music: Cross-Country, Track and Field, Wrestling, Chess, Scholastic Bowl, Jazz Band, Chamber Strings, and Chamber Choir/OMS Singers
  • For more information about student fees and fee waivers, please see the Student Fees page.
