Thank you for visiting the Whittier School website.  We have a long tradition of academic achievement, student participation, and parent involvement.  Whittier prides itself on the ability to enhance the lives of our students and maintain a positive role in the community by providing a respectful, nurturing, and challenging environment that will enable each child to reach his/her full potential.  We strive to create the best learner-focused classrooms possible in order to meet the needs of each of our students.  Whittier is a great place to learn!

A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  I am excited to join the Whittier School community this year as Principal.  Whittier has a long-standing reputation of educational excellence, which I am confident will continue.  Our faculty and staff have been preparing for an exciting school year. 

I come to Whittier School with 16 years of administrative experience, both as an Assistant Principal and Principal in the elementary school setting.  Prior to becoming an administrator, I was a special education teacher at both the elementary and junior high level.  I truly believe that all students should be given the opportunity to learn in the best educational environment possible.

The school is the heart of every village.  Teachers are responsible to teach and educate our children.  Students are responsible to try their best and learn from the experiences afforded them.  Parents are responsible to insure that their children are prepared and ready for each school day.  The Community is responsible to support the overall educational process.  Together, we will all work to achieve educational success for all our Whittier students!
