A Visitor from the Attorney General's Office

This week we were fortunate to have a visitor form the Attorney General's Office.  Sarah Migas came to Indian Trail to speak to our 5th and 6th graders about internet safety.  She spoke about being a digital citizen and making good choice while on social media sites such as Facebook.  She made it clear to students that anything posted on the internet leaves a digital story.  She also helped them to understand that Facebook is a public forum, not a private one like a diary.  She suggested that we reference the Illinois State's Attorney Generals website for parents.  It has several public service announcements that help students to understand the internet and their responsibilities as good digital citizens.  http://illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/cyberbullying/

I would like to thank Sarah for the time she spent with our students.
