Even though people know the harm that is caused by rain forest destruction, rain forests are still being cleared at an alarming rate. Groups who use the cleared land for wood, oil, and to raise cattle argue that they need the money the land provides. However, as rain forests are destroyed, animals are losing their homes and we are losing the benefits of the resources they provide. We may also suffer the effects of global warming. Which side of the argument do you support? Should the governments of the countries with these rain forests be able to use the land any way they wish? Should we protect the rain forests for all of its valuable resources?
