On Friday, May 16 at 9 a.m., District 58 will hold a meeting to discuss the district's plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private/parochial schools or are home-schooled within the District 58 boundaries for the 2014-15 school year. If you are a parent of a private/parochial school student or a home-schooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and you reside within the boundaries of Downers Grove Grade School District 58, you are urged to attend. O’Neill Middle School seventh grade science teacher Meg Van Dyke is one of just two DuPage County teachers to be named a 2014 finalist for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. A total of 32 finalists were selected from a pool of 620 nominations and 272 applicants representing fourth through eighth grade teachers throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. Students are encouraged to participate in the athletic camps offered at Downers Grove North High School. Information about these camps can be found on the Downers Grove North website. Herrick summer camps will return in summer 2015.
