Nearly 300 District 58 staff, students and parents attended the Education Foundation's Distinguished Service Awards ceremony at Ashyana Banquets April 10, where nearly 50 staff members were recognized for going above and beyond in their service to students.   • District 58 to hold meeting regarding special education services for private/parochial and homeschooled students

    On Friday, May 16 at 9 a.m., District 58 will hold a meeting to discuss the district's plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private/parochial schools or are home-schooled within the District 58 boundaries for the 2014-15 school year. If you are a parent of a private/parochial school student or a home-schooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and you reside within the boundaries of Downers Grove Grade School District 58, you are urged to attend. Please call (630) 719-5824 to indicate your intention to attend this meeting or if you have any questions pertaining to this meeting.

  • Last day of school set for 2013-14

    On April 14, the District 58 Board of Education set Wednesday, June 11 as the last day of school for the 2013-14 school year. Eighth-grade promotion ceremonies at O'Neill and Herrick will take place Tuesday, June 10.

  • O’Neill Middle School science teacher chosen as Golden Apple Award finalist

    O’Neill Middle School seventh grade science teacher Meg Van Dyke is one of just two DuPage County teachers to be named a 2014 finalist for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. A total of 32 finalists were selected from a pool of 620 nominations and 272 applicants representing fourth through eighth grade teachers throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.   • Herrick summer camps are cancelled

    Due to carpet removal and tile installment, we will not be able to host any of our summer athletic camps. Students are encouraged to participate in the athletic camps offered at Downers Grove North High School. Information about these camps can be found on the Downers Grove North website. Herrick summer camps will return in summer 2015.
