After achieving honors for creativity, teamwork and innovation in regional and state academic tournaments, four teams of students representing District 58’s Pierce Downer and Whittier schools have earned the right to compete in Destination Imagination's Global Finals, the world’s largest celebration of student creativity, to be held May 25-28 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This summer, District 58 will refresh all student iPads. This refresh will not only extend the life of the iPads, it will also help us ensure all iPads are up-to-date and functioning properly. To prepare, District 58 classroom teachers will collect all student iPads by Friday, May 27 or by an alternative date communicated by your child’s teacher. Parents, please follow these steps and ensure your child turns in his or her iPad, iPad case, sleeve and charger on time!

The Illinois PTA Reflections art competition recently selected one District 58 student’s art project to advance to the National PTA Reflections competition. The state competition also awarded nine Honorable Mentions to District 58 students.
The Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58 hosted its Distinguished Service Awards ceremony on Monday, May 2 at Ashyana Banquets. This ceremony annually honors those District 58 employees who exceed expectations and serve as inspirations to their community.
District 58 announces that it will partner with the PTA and public library to organize this year’s Parent-Led Summer Book Club Program. The District seeks parents to lead the book clubs. It's easy! All you need to do is gather a group and host the fun. Everything else will be organized for you.
