Speech Services and Social Work Services
Sometimes children have needs
in the area of language development and related social interaction. Together,
the speech therapist and social worker lead social language groups to meet
the needs of children with these concerns. Social language groups reinforce
skills necessary for reading and responding to social situations while
langauge skills are enhanced.
Speech Services: Speech services
are provided to children who have a specific needs in the areas of language
development or sound production.
Social Work Services: Social
work services provide individual, and group counseling. Groups may
focus on a particular topic such as helping children cope with divorce
or a group may cover a more general topic such as developing problem solving
skills.
