Congratulations Elliot Karl, on being our Scholarship winner for 2008. Elliot plans to attend Grinnell College majoring in English. Elliot was a National Honor Society and German Honor Society member. He was the captain of the Speech Team, Editor-In-Chief of the Downers Grove North High School literary magazine. He was also very involved in all aspects of theatre.

The Herrick Middle School Faculty Scholarship is a one-time $500 scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who attended Herrick Middle School for at least one year and graduated in good standing. The student receiving the award must have been accepted to college or university or a recognized institute for advanced training at the time of selection and must attend at least one semester for the award to be fully granted.

The scholarship will be an annual award and was first announced to the Herrick Class of 2001 by then retiring principal Dr. Robert Paolicchi at their promotion ceremony.
