Fairmont School has received the Academic Excellence Award from the Illinois State Board of Education.  Fairmont School is one of 438 schools to receive this award. There are almost 4500 public schools in the State of Illinois. The Academic Excellence Award is given to schools in recognition of having sustained a very high academic performance on the Illinois Learning Standards. To achieve this award 90% of students must meet or exceed state standards in both reading and math for three consecutive years. Six other District 58 school also achieved this recognition.
