District 58 requests that parents please register their children for the 2016-17 school year by Friday, May 13. The District sent parents personalized registration information via email and backpack mail (or U.S. postal mail for current seventh graders) on April 11. These messages included your child's personalized "snapcode," a password that lets you log onto your child's registration page.

District 58 announces that it will partner with the PTA and public library to organize this year’s Parent-Led Summer Book Club Program. The District seeks parents to lead the book clubs. It's easy! All you need to do is gather a group and host the fun. Everything else will be organized for you.
District 58 congratulates all students who participated in the 2016 Illinois Young Authors Conference Contest. This annual writing program invited students to write an original story and submit it to their classroom teacher. Each school selected one manuscript to be featured at the Illinois Young Authors Conference on Saturday, May 14 at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.

Families are invited to District 58’s annual Fit Fair tomorrow, Thursday, April 21, from 6-8 p.m. at O’Neill Middle School, 635 59th St.
Families can enjoy a meet-and-greet, photo opportunity and book signing with four prominent children's authors -- Laura Huliska-Beith, Chris Rylander, Liesl Shurtliff and Tom Watson.
The Biliteracy Program opened in 2014 and serves native Spanish-speaking District 58 students. Students in kindergarten through third grade may enroll for the 2016-17 school year. The Biliteracy Program expands by one grade level each school year.
